Making a Difference... Today & Everyday

'More Horizons' is established to protect, preserve and improve good health and well-being through compassion and care. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly and passionately to provide support to individuals and communities who need it the most. We strive to improve quality of life and make individuals more resilient, whether you have a long term health condition or just want to get healthier. The coronavirus pandemic has impacted on millions of individuals physically and mentally and we want to help if you need our support. The pandemic has changed the world and has changed the way we live and how we behave in the future. The importance of being healthy is even more paramount now and More Horizons will help people in their journey to achieve this. A healthy body means a healthy mind and vice versa. Healthy people lead to healthier communities and a powerful workforce to lift the nation's spirits and to prosper. More Horizons is committed to make this happen.

BREAST CANCER SCREENING AWARENESS

Its important to look out for any changes in your breasts regularly...no matter what shape or size your breasts are...so please check them regularly!

More Horizons is delivering group sessions to increase awareness and uptake of breast screening and encourage regular breast self-checks, particularly among underrepresented women and communities experiencing health inequalities, including minority ethnic groups and those living in deprived areas. This initiative is proudly funded by The Clare Foundation.

Early detection can save lives. This programme empowers women with the knowledge, confidence and access to take charge of their breast health — understanding the importance of breast screening, knowing how to check their breasts regularly, recognising changes early, and feeling confident about seeking help when something doesn’t feel right.

If you want us to come to you to raise breast screening awareness please contact us on info@morehorizons.org.uk

Around 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. There are good treatment options if the cancer is detected at an early stage. Check out more information here - Breast cancer in women - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Hence it is vital that women check their breasts regularly for any changes and always have any changes examined by their GP or healthcare professional. For more info pls visit Prevent Breast Cancer Charity UK | Predict Prevent Protect
